To smile or not to smile

To smile or not to smile

To smile or not to smile?

Ok, that’s the question.

I’m getting a bit addicted to surveys, here.

So what I want to know is:  how do you feel about a model smiling.  Do you think she should smile?  Or are you ok with her not smiling. Like Phoebe in this photo.

Which do you prefer?  (You’re allowed to like both, but you’re not allowed to like neither.)

Kate from Canva (isn’t that a particularly fine example of alliteration?) emailed to thank me for mentioning Canva in a blog post  Bigger things to think about  Wasn’t that nice?

Do you think Mark Zuckerberg would email and thank me for mentioning facebook in a blog?

Do you like this image and  logo that I made using  Canva?

Do you think I’ve asked too many questions?

I went to the Roller Derby for the first time last night: The Mad Hatters vs The Rocky Horrors.

In the beginning, I didn’t understand a single thing that was happening, but after a while I started to get the hang of it, and it became pretty exciting.  I couldn’t tell who was winning, but it didn’t matter.  It looked evenly matched to me, though The Mad Hatters won by a fair bit.

At the end, my friend Roxanne (you remember Roxanne? My Friend Roxanne said) won the Most Valuable Player award.

She had a C drawn onto her arm, and her husband said: What’s the C for, Rox?

She looked at him and said: The C is for Captain, Adam, I am the Captain.

Well done Roxanne.

These results will blow you away!!

Jodhpur survey

These results will blow you away!!

Have you ever been tempted (against your better judgement) to watch one of those facebook videos that say something like: Watch this dog it’s HILARIOUS!! Or:  What this girl does next is AMAZING!!  Or: The end of this video will really surprise you!!  And after you watch it you think: what was so hilarious/amazing/surprising about that?

Anyway, thank you to everyone who answered my mini survey  Drunken Sailor pants, or Jodhpurs?  the results are: 86 to drunken sailor pants, 19 to jodhpurs.

If these results blow you away, I’ll be totally FLABBERGASTED!!

Was the title catchy enough? How to do a ridiculously insane belt

So, how’s the economy?

So, how’s the economy?

Last Sunday I went for a walk along the beach, from Grey’s to Back Beach.

When I got to Back Beach, there was some sort of surfing carnival going on, with lots of people milling around.  It was about 1.30, and it looked like it was winding up.  I had to walk through quite a few people to get to the Hadda Way path; as I did so, I passed a couple of streaked- blond headed kids, with beanies and trackies on.  One was about 10, and the other about 12.

The younger one turned to the other and said:  So, how’s the economy?  The older one answered: Pretty good, but there’s a few black spots.

You heard it here first.

Ps; comments from the survey:  Drunken Sailor pants, or Jodhpurs?  are still coming in, so I will post the results in my next blog.

Drunken Sailor pants or Jodhpurs?

Ok, ok, I understand that Phoebe looks about a googolplex (I’ve just read Jonathan Safran Foer’s Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close) better than I do, but try (for the good of the herd) putting that aside. If you can.

I have to make up my mind pretty soon about next winter’s collection: do I do jodhpurs? or drunken sailor pants?

What would you go for?

Does anyone like jodhpurs?

Jodhpurs

Does anyone like jodhpurs?

I’ve been thinking about them lately, so I decided to make a pair and trial them.

I’ve worn them to a lot of places, and they’re really fun to wear.

They need a small top to go with them, and I also thought of a short swing jacket, so I made one of those, too.  I so love it.  And they feel just great together.

Both of them are made of a double knit stretch fabric, but two different sorts, so they are quite solid and warm.  There are two sets of buttons on the jacket, so it can be worn open, closed loosely, or closed tightly.

The jodhpurs are fairly long, so can be worn a little draped around the ankles, or rolled up.

I’m thinking they could be going onto next winter’s collection agenda.
